White Light →
If the selection, placement, and combination of objects underlay the art of interior design, then Marie Olsson Nylander’s waterfront haven is its ideal iteration. A bright, clean, and white palette forms the playful backdrop or carte blanche to subsequent bursts of color, from turquoise to shades of orange. Combine this with ingenious configurations—humble, modern Eames chairs situated beneath an...

Maldives, I Love You! →
I remembered looking at a list for the “Most Beautiful Island in the World”, and the Maldives was ranked at #1.  So for the last few years, I always picture the Maldives when I want to think about impossibly happy, exotic vacations.  Apartment Therapy did a quick write up on the Conrad Hotel recently, and it compelled me to share some of the tear inducing photos:

Old Treasures With New Pleasures! →
I always wonder how people use antique pieces in their home. Finally, I have found some photos on Miss Design’s blog that really exemplify how one should display these antiques. It’s a really great inspiration to be able to look at how someone created something that may have been useless and now it’s very useful to them. Looking at the photos below, it is like playing an eye spy...

The Safe House →
Originally I heard about The Safe House when a friend of mine sent me an email about The Zombie Proof House (they are the same house)… I must admit, I do have an irrational fear of zombies which is why she would send me an email that is zombie related. (^_^) Anyhoo, the house is incredible and not just for it’s anti-zombie potential! It was designed by KWK Promes to offer a...

Picture Stories! →
So, I’ve been eying a trend that I think is the new way of dressing up a wall. Picture stories are a simple idea that can go a long way. It is easy to whip up if you have lots of different frames and photos you’ve been dying to display. I think it’s really fun and keeps your room interesting. It’s also a great project that you and and a friend can create. Make it a...

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE →
In these blogs posts, I am always talking about how I “LOVE” this or that so there should be no surprise when I say that I LOVE this LOVE print! It’s from MadeByGirl. It’s so simple and this one is done in a light metallic silver color (it is available in other colors). I’d LOVE to have one on my wall!

Million Dollar Decorators Obsession! →
I recently caught the new series on Bravo TV called Million Dollar Decorators and I’m obsessed. They have chosen many talented decorators that I’m thrilled to see. One of my favorites is Mary McDonald who, in a past episode, designed an amazing office for Jill Roberts (a boutique owner in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica, CA). It was amazing how she combined so many patterns and they...

Wallpaper Delight →
Wallpaper is all the rage in the interior design world.  I visited my sister’s new home and saw all of the beautiful wallpaper throughout the house.  Wallpaper evokes such a strong emotion due to the variety of textures, colors, and patterns that cannot be match by simply painting a wall.

Digital-Only Textbook for Kids →
Let me start of by professing my love for the Kindle.  E-readers are definitely the future, and it looks like the future is finally about to descend upon our public school systems.  McGraw-Hill just launched it’s first digital only textbook.

Broccoli Tree House →
A father’s love for his son knows no bounds.  If you feel that you can’t build a real world-sized tree house, try the broccoli tree house.  All you need is broccoli, balsa wood, a craft knife, and glue.  It’s healthy, eco-friendly, and won’t give your kid any splinters.

I just found a great new interior design blog called Emma’s Design Blog.  It brings a  neat, Scandinavian design and style perspective for home decor.  The photos are clean and crisp.  The decor is minimalist and modern.  There is a lot to like while perusing through the website.

Retro Modern Wallpaper from X-Men: First Class →
X-Men: First Class is an excellent movie directed by Mathew Vaughn.  But the main reason to see the movie is the amazing wallpaper from the submarine scene.  It’s the very same wallpaper our design team used for our Pop Life Dining shoot.  Great minds think alike!
